The Uncanny and The Shadow

The connection between these two readings is the familiarity but yet uncomfortableness of ourselves. We all have this uncanny shadow looming over us that we try to deny. It is an outside characteristic to the kind of person we think ourselves to be so we do whatever we can to exclude it but it never really goes away. In actuality if you look at it our shadow is our true selves that we don't want to see. I know I'm uncomfortable at times in my own skin because deep down I know there is another part of me that I don't want known.
